I was working on something for today but unfortunately I couldn't finish in time so I'll upload it once I get it finished (if I get it finished XD)
I think letting myself join deviantart and eventually tumblr has let me become a better artist. Not only did I realize "wow, I never knew there were kids the same age as me who are so much better at art" and "there's more than just fine art", I've realized there's a whole level of creativity that I haven't discovered yet. I made me appreciate art more as well let me become more familiar with art. Before when I looked at fanart, I never really considered the detail, skill, and creativity put into a piece, but after soaking in the art media more, there was like a whole new perspective and appreciation for art. Also, putting myself through digital art has let me understand fine art more. (Usually it's the other way around right XD But, I mean, fine art also helps me with my coloring.) Does, that make sense?
Over the past year, I genuinely feel like I have improved. Maybe not in making a masterpiece, but the basic skills of art that I didn't know existed before like color, anatomy, composition, etc. I can finally sketch something without taking 30 minutes because before all my sketches needed to be absolutely neat. Now I look back at those drawing and they look stiff and has no room for emotion in the drawing. Now I can maybe put more thought into a drawing without focusing on needing it to be perfect. Next year, I will probably look back at it and laugh but it's a learning process and I'm pleased with the progress I'm making.
With that being said, I really feel and art career is right for me, more so toward the animation industry. But, Zoey, you're really not that good, are you sure? Well fuck, I don't think I'm that good either. But this deviantart isn't a very good representation of the progress I'm making and hopefully when I think my art is worthy enough I'll upload regularly.
Thanks to the meager amount of watchers I have for watching this account and all the favorites I've ever gotten on any piece. I hope I will improve even more by the next March 11.
